Wake up.
Check Twitter. Has anyone talked about my music? Yes? No? Must see.
Check FB fan page. Anyone new? Yes? No? Must see.
Check myspace (every 5 days). Anyone new? Invites to shows in states I’ve never been by bands I’d never see? Yes? No? Must see.
Do a google search for my name, check the top 10 or 50 hip hop sites, check check check check.
when you find a routine, feels too clean
All of this, all of this thinking of how to spread my music on the overloaded, fickle, commitment-issue-having social sites before i even sit down to make it, all of these sites that i stare aimlessly at (there is only one site that i’ve reserved for that), are slowly driving their way through my pores into my brain and into my soul (which i guess is in my brain? who knew).
So, i’ve decided over the next few days to purge of all of this. I figure, the people who like my music (like my awesome dad who reads my site all of the time) will find me here and continue to support what I put out.
Today is a good day to cleanse. Four years ago today, when my mom died, my life changed forever. it set into motion me being in California to begin with (long, long story). but i am here, and i have work to do. not bulletins / tweets / “likes”.
